Place Leaf Eater over the edge of the pool with the bag hanging in the water and the wheels or brushes facing up. Turn on the water supply to the hose wide open. Grasp pole and ease the Leaf Eater into the water so one edge of the lip is just under the surface of the water. The water jet and bag provide floatation so the Leaf Eater may be moved about on the surface with ease. Move the Leaf Eater around over the surface keeping one edge of the lip under water towards leaves and debris on the surface. The jets of water cause action to pull debris from the surface into the bag.

Top Skimming
Place Leaf Eater over the edge of the pool with the bag under water. Turn on the water supply to the hose wide open. Starting at one end move the Leaf Eater across pool bottom. The speed you move the Leaf Eater depend on how much debris you have on pool bottom and your water pressure.
It is easier to remove leaves directly from the bottom filter grate if your filter pump is turned off. Otherwise, filter pump may be left on to remove dirt agitated by your leaf eater.
