Prized for its aroma and burning qualities, sandalwood was first exported to the Asian markets in 1840. Ten years later it became the major source of income for the new colony of Western Australia. Today sandalwood is the 'golden' timber and is probally the most expensive commerically marketed wood in the world.During the early 1900's the oil from sandalwood became sought after for its medicinal qualities, but like many natural remedies, new, synthetic products replaced it in the early 50's. Now there has been resurgence in demand for sandal wood products, especially the oil and sandalwood sawdust as consumers world wide look back to natural products.

Each packet contains twelve stick that burn for a minimum of three hours and up to four, depending on the wind. Unlike other repellents, if you drop them, they won't break. In addition, you won't waste and of the stick when you extinguish it. Simply turn it upside down in soil or sand, or dip the tip in water, and the next day - relight!
