Q: Why is a "Pool Shower" needed?
A: There is a national health issue with many documented cases of
bacterial infections at public pools and water parks throughout the world. A
product such as "The Pool Shower" is a much needed item for pool areas in order
to keep our loved ones safe. Besides washing away bacteria, one can also remove
lotions, lint, dirt, sand, or other debris which helps keep pool water and hot
tubs cleaner and easier to maintain.
Q: Are your showers for indoor and outdoor use?
A: Yes. Our showers have been installed indoors in facilities such as
fitness centers, scuba diving schools, public pool shower stalls, indoor pools,
and YMCA's. One of the newest fads for homes is an enclosed outside shower.
These are not only used for rinsing off salt or chlorine water, but also for
outdoor bathing.
Q: Do your showers have hot and cold water?
A: YES! We now manufacture shower units with hot and cold valves. Also,
our single valve units can be installed with a mixing valve which has hot and
cold water lines that mix within the valve to produce warm water. This allows
one to have water at a desired temperature and provides the option of having the
water at a constant temperature and reduce the risk of scalding.
Q: What if I want to change some of the features you
offer on your showers, or I have a style in mind that is not shown?
A: We can customize a shower by adding or removing accessories as needed,
or changing the features such as the style of the shower head. We do custom
build showers, and have designed models with additional shower heads, spray
hoses, and various features when requested. Connections are standard ½", making
them compliant with other plumbing accessories.
Q: What types of valves do you offer?
A: We now have four types of valves. The On/off Cross Handle Valve is
appropriate for residential use and is less expensive. It is simply turned on
and off manually. The American Disability Act (ADA) compliant valve is required
in commercial and public areas. We have three styles: metered push handle valve
with adjustable cycles that run 10-60 seconds (ADA regulations require 10
seconds running time for water flow), a lever handle that is manually turned on
and off, and an electronic sensor valve that comes on for a determined cycle
when movement is detected directly in front of the valve.
Q: Will The Pool Shower endure freezing temperatures?
A: The Stainless Steel portion of our shower units is resistant to freeze
damage, but the valves are not. We recommend that the showers be winterized by
removing the shower head, valves, and hose bibb where temperatures reach below
32°F for long periods of time. Vented plugs are available for use when the
valves are removed.
Q: What accessories are available on the Pool Showers?
A: We offer a foot shower and/or hose bibb on both our free standing and
wall mounted units. A drinking fountain is available on the free standing
showers. Our newest accessory is a hand held sprayer and stainless steel hose. A
2.5 GPM shower head comes with all units and many styles are available.
Q: Do you ship outside the United States?
A: Yes. We ship worldwide and do our best to keep charges at a minimum
based on current UPS or USPS rates.
Q: How long will it take for me to receive my order?
A: We do our very best to ship in 2-5 days from the date the order is
received¾sooner on units in stock. If needed, we will ship next day or second
day air for an additional charge. Special order units can take up to 14 days.
Q: What is your return policy?
A: If you are not completely satisfied with any item purchased from The
Pool Shower, Inc. we will be glad to refund you the amount you paid for the
shower unit minus a 10% restocking fee. We ask that returns be made within 30
days from the date of purchase. We do not refund shipping charges.
Q: Who can I get to install my pool shower if I am not
able to do it myself?
A: We recommend that you have your pool shower installed by a
professional plumber or swimming pool contractor. Complete hardware is included
with each unit. Installation guidelines are included with every unit and are
also available on our website. We will be glad to answer any questions through
email or by phone.
Q: Why do you make your showers out of stainless steel
when other materials are less expensive?
A: Stainless steel contains nickel and is resistant to rust damage in
salt water and chlorine environments. Galvanized steel will rust; brass becomes
discolored; and plastic is easily discolored, cracked, and broken. Our main goal
in making pool showers is to make a product that surpasses other outdoor showers
in quality and endurance in harsh environments. |
